Chuck is our 2009-2010 FTC robot. The name was given to him because he can "chuck" balls. Also the reverse movement of the rollers can be callled an "up-chuck" manuver. He was used in the Greensboro, North Carolina 2010 FTC competition. We achieved 6th place overall and finished in the second place alliance. He utilizes a catapult mechanism to fire a wiffle ball. The loading mechanism loads one ball at a time to keep from locking up and misfiring. Also two rollers laden with drawer liner load the balls into a holding area. The robot uses omni wheels to allow smooth movement and control.
